The Moluccas (North Maluku and Maluku Provinces), located in the eastern part of Indonesia, are among the regions scientists have least studied, partly due to their remoteness. The deeper part of the reefs in these waters is virtually unexplored and unstudied, despite its high potential to provide a home for new and endemic species to science.
